  Dear Professor SU,
Thanks for your letter dated February 6th, inviting me to attend and chair a
session of the forthcoming “International Symposium on Chinese-American Cultural Interaction” to be held in Nanjing, P. R. China, from July 4 to July 7,2003.
Much to my regret, I shall not be able to honor the invitation because I have to
deal with a lot of things and I really have no time to prepare the symposium. Unfortunately, my wife has been suffering from a disease since last month, and I must take care of her.
I feel very upset to miss the opportunity of meeting you and many others in the
field of Chinese-American Culture. I firmly hope that the symposium will be of great success.
  Sincerely yours,

Many thanks for your letter dated 15th August, inviting me to attend and chair a session of the forthcoming 2004 International Conference on Parallel Data Processing to be held in Bellaire, Michigan, from October 25 to 28, 2004.
